Dear students, parents and carers,

We find our selves in extraordinary position in terms of transition for this school year. Usually in the summer term we would  be busy getting to know our students who are moving from primary schools into our setting for September.

This transition process would generally involve at least four visits to our school site with the opportunity to meet the staff and students the child will be with in September.

During these visits we also get the chance to talk to parents about transport, school uniform, medical needs, social and learning needs, the shape of the Seven Hills school day and through this we are able to agree a transition package which fits the needs of families and their children.   We also enjoy going out to visit the children in their primary school setting so that we can really see what works well for that child ad how we can support them to make a successful tranisition to our school.

Sadly this year due to school closures related to Covid 19 it is not yet safe to have visitors into school or to be visiting children in their own settings.

To try and support children who are making this transition we have created some resources which give a flavour of life at Seven Hills. These include a film we made last year about life at our school
(this can be found on the front page of our website).  We also have on this page a updated booklet about the school and a short film showing you our building and what we look like!

These resources are not intended to replace our strong transition programme but in the current circumstances they do represent a little snapshot of life at Seven Hills.  I hope you can share these with your child or if you are looking for school placement in the future I hope they will give you an insight into our school, how we function and how amazing and talented our wonderful students are.

If you are a parent seeking to find placement for 2020-2021 admissions please feel free to ring the school for a chat with Elaine Everett – headteacher of lower school and with responsibility for primary to secondary transition.

Please enjoy our transition resources I hope you find them useful
