Seven Hills school regards Preparation for Adulthood (PFA) as important as academic achievements. Through the Careers programme we aim to support each student on their own pathway towards adulthood. The programme aims to support students (and their families) to make the most informed decision that they can about their future choices and career options. This includes moving on to appropriate Post 16 options and transitioning into education or social care provision from Y11 onwards.
Information, Advice & Guidance is provided through:
- Annual Review Process – As part of the annual review process all students from Y9 discuss their future pathways and have impartial advice from a Sheffield Futures representative present within the review.
- Coffee mornings – an opportunity for parents and carers from Y9 onwards to learn about the different pathways for Post 16 provision
- Market Place Event – each year there local service providers are invited to school to provide information on what is available to students for Y7 onwards. This includes what is available at weekends and during holidays, and what is available to students from Y11 onwards.
- Transition visits to local colleges and social care providers
